The addition of the seasoned mobile and digital executive sparks a new phase of advancement for the company as it reaches into new markets and fortifies its customer base

LOS ANGELES – July 13, 2022  — EV Charging Solutions (EVCS), one of the largest and fastest growing electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network operators in the US, has today announced the appointment of mobile and digital media industry veteran, Kirk Johnson, as Chief Growth Officer. Johnson joins EVCS from Amazon, where he served as Head of Marketing and Appstore Business for Fire TV and Tablet in North America. His appointment is effective immediately and he will report directly to EVCS Co-Founder and CEO Gustavo Occhiuzzo.

“Kirk is the ideal leader to spearhead the next phase of rapid growth at EVCS, and we are thrilled to have him on the team,” said Gustavo Occhiuzzo, EVCS Co-Founder and CEO. “Kirk’s track record of scaling up subscription businesses makes him an ideal candidate to take on the role as Chief Growth Officer here at EVCS. Under his direction, we are excited to accelerate our leadership role in building out the national EV fast charging network.”

As Chief Growth Officer, Johnson will lead marketing, digital product development, and strategic partnerships with responsibility for consumer revenue and network utilization. Bringing a digital-first perspective, he will spearhead the development and advancement of all customer-facing touchpoints, including the expansion of EVCS’ “all-you-can-charge” subscription offering – the company’s groundbreaking unlimited fast charging service. Forging a new path for the company, Johnson’s 20+ years of experience leading high-performance teams to deliver against user growth, and profitability objectives in both early-stage startup and Fortune 500 organizations, will take EVCS to new heights.

“I’m thrilled by the opportunity to lead the EVCS product, marketing and partnerships teams and help guide the next chapter in the company’s vision to mitigate the impact of climate change through the rapid transition to zero emission electric vehicles,” said Kirk Johnson, EVCS Chief Growth Officer. “As EVCS increases its investment into the expansion of its West Coast fast charging network, I’m excited to lead the company’s work in catalyzing EV adoption by building consumer confidence in the availability and speed of public EV charging and demystifying confusing rate structures.”

Prior to EVCS, Johnson led the North America consumer marketing and product planning teams for the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV and Tablets, with responsibility for engaging and monetizing over 22 million monthly active users. A career product strategist and digital growth leader, he has held numerous executive positions across the digital media and consumer electronics industries, including Head of Product and Growth at Screambox and Vice President of Product at Zeebo, a Qualcomm company.

Johnson holds an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business and a BA from UC San Diego.
