How do I open an account?

Download our app for free and simply enter your name and email address to sign up. Additionally, you can sign up and learn more about our monthly subscription charging plans here: evcs.com/plans.

How can I find the closest charger?

You can search by city or zip code through our EVCS app or by going to find a charger. You can also find all of our public chargers via Plugshare, Google and Apple maps.


What EV’s does EVCS support?

EVCS chargers support all EVs on the road. Tesla EVs do need the necessary CCS, CHAdeMO or J1772 adapter to be able to charge at our EVCS chargers. We are currently in the midst of retrofitting many of our chargers for Tesla support. Please check the EVCS app to see if the necessary charging connector or adapter is available at your desired EVCS location.


How long will it take to charge my EV?

In 30 minutes, almost all vehicles can charge 80-150 miles using EVCS’s DC Fast Chargers and 8-12 miles using a Level 2 charger.


Can I reserve a charger?

Chargers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The app will display how many chargers are currently available at that particular site.

If I’m having charger trouble, who can I contact?

Our EVCS Support Center is open 24/7/365 to address charger issues. We can be reached by phone at (866) 300-EVCS (3827). Customers who call will be connected to a live agent, ready to help you get back on the road.


What do I do if my car says charging was interrupted?

Unplug the connector from your car, place it back in the charger, and end the session. After the session has ended, reconnect the plug in the car and restart the charging session. If the problem persists, please contact us at (866) 300-EVCS (3827) and ask to speak with our support team.


Does your app work with other networks?

No. Our app only works with the EVCS network of chargers.


Do you offer pay per charge?

Yes, we have a California state-wide pay-as-you-go rate of $0.39/kWh for Level 2 and $0.49/kWh for DC fast charging. In Washington and Oregon, our pay-as-you-go rate is $0.29/kWh for Level 2 and $0.49/kWh for DC fast charging.


How many times per day can I charge?

With the monthly unlimited charging plan, you can charge as many times as you like. However, a total of one hour must elapse between charges.


When/how often will I be billed for the monthly subscription plan?

You will be automatically billed one month after your initial purchase date. For example, if you purchased on June 6th, you will be billed the following month on July 6th. If you purchase your plan on the 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month, your billing date will be the 1st.


When does my subscription start?

Your subscription will commence immediately once payment is processed.


Can I use pre-paid or gift cards with your service?

At the current time, we only allow use of VISA and MasterCard gift cards with our service.

How many total charges will I get before I exceed the 200 kWh cap on the Standard Anytime plan?

At About 7 charges a month based on a 50 kW battery and an efficiency of 0.26 kWh/mile (Battery capacity and efficiency based on the Tesla Model 3).

What happens if I exceed the 200 kWh Standard Anytime Plan cap?

On the Standard Anytime plan, you will be charged a rate of $0.33/kWh (33% of our regular rate of $0.49 for pay-per-charge DCFC) for both Level 2 and Level 3 charging after exceeding the kWh cap. Upon completion of your monthly subscription renewal your 200 kWh hour cap will be reset. 

How do I upgrade or downgrade my membership?

You may upgrade or downgrade your EVCS subscription plan at any time at evcs.com/account.

How does the Free Trial work and when will I be billed?

Your Free Trial includes 30 kWh, which you can use within 7 days from when you sign up. You will be automatically charged the monthly fee for your subscription plan either after consuming the free 30 kWh or after the 7 day trial expires, whichever comes first.


How much charging is my 30 kWh free trial offer?

30 kWh is equivalent to about 105-115 miles range. Mile ranges are estimated based on the assumption of 3.5-3.9 miles/kWh energy efficiency.

What happens if I exceed the 30 kWh Free Trial cap during a charging session?

If you exceed the 30 kWh Free Trial during an active charging session, you will automatically transition into your plan, and you will be billed for the following:
1. The monthly subscription fee
2. Any charging amount that exceeds the Free Trial allowance, subject to the terms of your charging plan

How does upgrading or downgrading my subscription plan work if I am a paying subscriber?

Upgrade: Upon upgrading, your new monthly billing date will be changed to one month from the upgrade date. EVCS issues you a pro-rated credit calculated using the percentage of unused days in your plan month. This credit is applied to your first monthly payment of your upgraded plan.

Downgrade: For downgrades, the adjustment will go into effect in the next billing cycle and no refunds will be provided for the remaining days in a billing cycle after downgrade or cancellation of a membership.

When can I charge with the Unlimited Off-Peak Plan?

Unlimited Off-Peak plan subscribers are able to charge for free from 10 pm to 6 am.

Can I transfer/share the subscription to another person?

You will need to cancel your subscription and the other person will have to enroll in the program. Plans cannot be shared amongst users at this time.


Do you have a referral program?

Referral program is coming soon!


How do I cancel a subscription?

Click "subscription plan" on the app which will take you to your account (in a browser window). Click on the "cancel" button. You can cancel at any time, and your plan will be active until the end of the billing cycle. You will not be refunded for any remaining days in the cycle.


Can I access my account online whenever I want?

Yes. You can access your account directly through the My Account tab on the EVCS mobile app.

Is the EVCS network expanding?

Yes! We are rapidly expanding, planning to more than double our network footprint to nearly 1,500 chargers by the end of 2023. We will be expanding into 35+ new cities and increasing charger density in the 60+ cities we are already in. See find a charger for locations coming soon!
