You might have some inquiries concerning electric vehicles and charging stations. Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about EVs and charging:

How does the free trial work?

All you need to do is sign up at evcs.com/register, and you'll enjoy 30 days of unlimited EVCS charging. After the 30-day free trial ends, the membership price is $49.99/month. You may cancel your free trial anytime at evcs.com/account.

What EV’s does EVCS support?

EVCS chargers support all EVs on the road. Tesla EVs do need the necessary CCS, CHAdeMO or J1772 adapter to be able to charge at our EVCS chargers. We are currently in the midst of retrofitting many of our chargers for Tesla support. Please check the EVCS app to see if the necessary charging connector or adapter is available at your desired EVCS location.

How fast do your stations charge?

In 30 minutes, almost all vehicles can charge 80-150 miles using EVCS’s DC Fast Chargers and 8-12 miles using a Level 2 charger.

How do you use an EVCS charging station?

  1. Use the station finder to locate your nearest EVCS location.
  2. Select your plan, create an account and start your free trial.
  3. Download the EVCS app (iOS App Store + Google Play).
    Note: Remember to sign in on the app using the same credentials used on evcs.com.
  1. At an EVCS station, open the app, and scan the QR code located on the charger.
  2. Connect the charger to the vehicle.
  3. Select "Start Charging" on the app.
    Note: On Tritium, you need to push the "Start Charging" on the charger to initiate charge.

How many total charges will I get before I exceed the 200 kWh cap on the Standard Anytime plan?

About 7 charges a month based on a 50 kW battery and an efficiency of 0.26 kWh/mile (battery capacity and efficiency based on the Tesla Model 3).

What happens if I exceed the 200 kW Standard Anytime Plan cap?

On the Standard Anytime plan, you will be charged a rate of $0.29/kWh (40% of our regular rate of $.49 for pay-per-charge DCFC) for both Level 2 and Level 3 charging after exceeding the kWh cap. Upon completion of your monthly subscription renewal your 200 kW hour cap will be reset. 

If you exceed the 200 kW cap during the session, you will not be charged the $0.29/kWh rate until the next charging session. 

How do I upgrade or downgrade my subscription?

You may upgrade or downgrade your EVCS subscription plan at any time at evcs.com/account.

How does upgrading or downgrading my subscription plan work if I am on a free trial?

Upgrade: If you upgrade from the Standard Anytime plan while on a free trial, your billing date will be the earlier of the original trial end date or 7 days from the upgrade date. If you upgrade from the Unlimited Off-Peak Pro Plan, your trial period will not change and you will be billed 7 days after your sign-up date.

Downgrade:If you downgrade from any Unlimited plan to the Standard Anytime Plan, your free trial will be extended 30 days from your original sign-up date. If you downgrade from the Unlimited Anytime Pro to the Unlimited Off-Peak Pro, your free trial will remain 7 days and you will be billed 7 days after your original sign-up date. 

How does upgrading or downgrading my subscription plan work if I am a paying subscriber?

Upgrade: Upon upgrading, your new monthly billing date will be changed to one month from the upgrade date. EVCS issues you a pro-rated credit calculated using the percentage of unused days in your plan month. This credit is applied to your first monthly payment of your upgraded plan.

Downgrade: For downgrades, the adjustment will go into effect in the next billing cycle and no refunds will be provided for the remaining days in a billing cycle after downgrade or cancellation of a membership. 

How do I cancel my subscription?

Click "subscription plan" on the app which will take you to your account (in a web browser window). Click on the "cancel" button. You can cancel at any time, and your plan will be active until the end of the billing cycle. You will not be refunded for any remaining days in the cycle.

Is the EVCS network expanding?
